Barbadians losing their Freedoms

Bridgetown, Barbados - On the 5th November, 2009, Prime Minister David Thompson announced that Barbados will be adopting a smart card which will embrace three other less secure identification cards.

The card is describe by the Prime Minister as a single multi-purpose, high secure ID-card. It will simplify transactions for people who have had to show their National Identification Card, driver's license and National Insurance & Social Security card to access goods and services.

Because of the services which will embrace this card, it will be imperative to travel with it at all times. It will be stored in the wallets and purses of many like a debit or credit card.

As this card will be storing information of the user, this is the point where all Barbadians will lose their freedoms.

These "smart cards" carry a very small chip called a Radio-frequency identification (RFID) chip which was originally used by manufactures to tract their products. These chips are now being used by governments to track their people. Some of these RFID chips can be read by sensors several meters away and beyond the line of sight.

These chips can be used to give the exact location of the carrier at all times, and it keeps a digital map of the pass undertakings of that individual. There will therefore be no place to hide from the government of Barbados.

Our freedoms have also been taken when walking the streets as cameras are now posted in strategic locations throughout the city, at traffic lights, and other areas. With a combination of the smart cards, cell phones which also carry RFID chips, and cameras the government knows everything its citizens are doing.

The world under the guise of offering security having driven fear into the hearts of persons with one hand, has taken away any privacy and freedom an individual might have previously held with the other.

Barbadians are therefore losing their freedom by willingly giving it up in return for a more "secure" world.

The time is now quickly approaching for the society to become one that is cashless in preference for the smart chips which can be implanted under the skin, and therefore more "secure" as it can't be stolen, nor can it be counterfeited.

The implants are already being carried out in humans, and are also being implanted in animals so they can be tracked by their owners.

The time is almost here when one will not be able to by or sell without the possibility of being traced.

A few quotes to boot

The jaws of power are always opened to devour, and her arm is always stretched out, if possible, to destroy the freedom of thinking, speaking, and writing.

John Adams
(2nd President of the US)

While the State exists, there can be no freedom. When there is freedom there will be no State.

(Russian revolutionary)
