The Reverend Garvey Ince is an ordained Minister in the AME Church and serves as the Chief Financial Officer of St. James African Methodist Church and its affiliates, where he has served for the past 30 years.

During his tenure, he has been responsible for the oversight and management of the more than $22 million in assets, as well as forging strong private/public partnerships to affect positive changes in the revitalization of Newark and surrounding communities. These include St. James Preparatory School – a Christian academy ranging from grades 6 to 12; St. James Towers – a 240 units housing complex; St. James Social Services – serving the social needs in adult education, counseling, feeding and clothing distribution, etc.; and Visions Economic Development – a housing projects to build both affordable and market rate housing.

Rev. Ince is the CEO of the St. James AME Federal Credit Union, a long standing volunteer Credit Union that grew from $750,000 in 1995 to over $1.5 million in 2005. He has spearheaded partnerships with other lending institutions to offered mortgages to credit union members. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors for St. James AME Preparatory School, a Christian Academy of Academic Excellence.

Rev. Ince is the Director of the St. James AME Financial Wellness Ministry which helps members of the church and community to improve their financial health through better understanding of debt management, savings, investments, retirement planning, home ownership, business development, job creation and entrepreneurship.

Rev. Ince has more than 20 years of domestic and international leadership and managerial experience in both the telecommunications and banking industries. He has developed high level business strategies with some of the leading players in the Asian technology growth areas and has traveled and worked extensively facilitating these throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America both in his role as Executive Director of Strategic Alliances with Lucent Technologies, and as Executive Director for Telcordia (formerly Bellcore). Rev. Ince has held Executive positions at fortune 500 companies such as AT&T, Verizon Communications, Telcordia, and Lucent Technologies.
