According to the Bahamian Guardian, Dr. Lynwood Brown Jr. an emergency room medical doctor will face charges of sexual misconduct, by inappropriately touching an emergency medical technician (EMT).
His lawyer Devard Francis claimed that it was not in the jurisdiction of the court to hear the matter because more than six months had elapsed between the alleged offense and Brown's arraignment. The EMT's lawyer, Romona Farquharson countered by stating her client had filed a complaint four days before any expiration. The doctor has pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Guillimina Archer, ruled in Farquharson's favor, and allowed the arraignment to proceed.
The trial begins on November 1. Bail has been set at $6,000 with one surety.
