Dubai, UAE - The second LG People's Choice Awards will allow cricket fans the unique chance to vote for a galaxy of international stars who have produced outstanding performances in the past year.
Those nominated include South Africa batsman Hashim Amla, India's skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Chris Gayle from the West Indies, Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara and England's Jonathan Trott.
Gayle's nomination comes following his monumental 333 for West Indies in the first Test against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Cricket Stadium last November. It was the left-hander's highest Test score, the highest score by a West Indian outside the Caribbean and the highest score by a visiting batsman in Sri Lanka.
For the second time in the history of the LG ICC Awards, fans will have the opportunity to decide the winner, voting via www.lgpeopleschoice.comVoting will be open until 11am GMT (7 am Eastern Caribbean Time/6 am Jamaica Time) on August 25 with the winner will be announced on September 12 at the LG ICC Awards in London.
