NEW YORK -- Rihanna is suing her former accountants in New York, blaming them for millions of dollars in losses from her tours. The lawsuit was filed Thursday in federal court in Manhattan.
Rihanna has sued under her biological name, Robyn Fenty.
Former accounting firm, Berdon LLP, and two accountants are accused of causing "significant financial losses".
"Between 2005 and 2010, Tourihanna suffered significant losses due to defendants' financial mismanagement and other acts and omissions", the lawsuit states.
Tourihanna was the concert touring company established by Berdon on Rihanna's behalf, according to the suit.
The singer further claims that as a result the IRS is now auditing her because Berdon mishandled tax returns between 2008 and 2010. The suit includes claims of breach of contract, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty and unjust enrichment.
She is represented by Cindy Minniti and Meagan Crowley from Reed Smith in New York.
According to the ReedSmith website Cindy Schmitt Minniti, who is a partner since 2007, represents management exclusively in labor and employment law, including litigation, counseling, arbitration and mediation with regard to employment discrimination, harassment, labor relations, and wage-hour compliance.
