Hasn't Rihanna learnt anything concerning the work of photographers? Rihanna's "You Da One" was first released November 11 and was reportedly shot in London, and released on Friday (Dec. 23). The video thus far has witness almost 4 million views, but might contain elements of the work of a famous photographer, Sølve Sundsbø.
In the almost black and white video, Rihanna is stripped down to a flesh-colored bodysuit and is bathed in lighting that casts leopard spots on her seemingly-naked body. Fashionista magazine pointed out similarities with a spread fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø did for an issue of Numero in 2008.(nydailynews)
In an interview with the Independent newspaper, Sølve Sundsbø is quoted as saying, "People would say to me, 'I'm not sure I can hire you, I'm not sure what you're doing. What is your style?' I was mortified and thought I was never going to make a living as a photographer."
Oh have things changed for this photographer, whose portfolio reads like a who's who of luxury designers - Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Gucci, Hermès, Bally and Armani. He has also branched out into short films.
In February, The internet was abuzz with accusations that Rihanna had ripped-off famed photographer David LaChapelle in her music video, S&M.
LaChapelle received an undisclosed sum from Rihanna and is "happy with the settlement", his publicist told the New York Post. The celebrated photographer had been seeking $1m in damages from Rihanna(guardian)
