Rihanna's last world concert tour called the "Loud Tour" made Barbados one of its venues on August 5, 2011. That particular tour witnessed a sold-out Kensington Oval with a show unlike anything ever held in Barbados.
The tour extended the stay of those who had come to the island for the popular Crop Over season events which take place that time of the year, and encouraged other visitors to the neignbouring islands throughout the Caribbean, and many other places around the globe.
The "Diamonds Tour" is the fifth world tour by the Barbadian artist, and began on March 8, 2013. It has been having encores for "Stay" and "Diamonds" which are two of the fourteen tracks on the Unapologetic album released on November 19, 2012, her seventh album.
Previous world tours by Rihanna include, Rihanna: Live in Concert Tour (2006), Good Girl Gone Bad Tour (2007-09), Last Girl on Earth Tour (2010-11), Loud Tour (2011).
